A bit about me.. Having spent the majority of my adult life in the oil and gas industry, I developed an interest in reflexology during a visit to a golf resort on the West Coast of Scotland. I loved having my feet massaged as a child, so on visiting their spa, opted for a reflexology treatment. After that, I realised there was more to reflexology than just foot massage, and was eager to find out more..
I applied and was accepted as a student by the Scottish School of Reflexology in Ayr, and a year and a number of case studies later, graduated in 2002 as a fully trained reflexologist. Following that, I gained a diploma in Remedial and Therapeutic Massage/Swedish Massage through the Scottish Massage Schools, and went on to study Reiki, First and Second Degree in the Usui System of Natural Healing, with Elizabeth Harley at the Reiki Training Centre. I have since expanded on my reflexology skills, and have gained a Practitioner’s Diploma in Hot and Cold Stone Reflexology, and completed training in Maternity Reflexology with Sally Earlam Reflexology. Additionally, I have been awarded the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, and have previously studied Health Science, and Nutrition.
I have recently graduated from the Open University with a BSc honours degree in Psychology with Counselling, and am now a graduate member of British Psychological Society. I have also been awarded a 'Distinction' in Counselling Skills by COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland). Currently, I am studying towards a Master of Science degree in Health Psychology through the University of Aberdeen.
As a reflexologist, I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists, a formal registrant of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council, and fully insured.
